Student Internships (SCIP)

Are you a post-secondary student looking for valuable work experience?

The Serving Communities Internship Program (SCiP) builds stronger communities and leaders in Alberta through internships for post-secondary students in nonprofit/voluntary sector organizations. SCiP is a program of Volunteer Alberta and is funded by the Government of Alberta.

The student is given an opportunity to fulfill needed volunteer hours towards their school requirements. Organizations get to utilize the volunteer’s knowledge, abilities, and experience to fill needed areas within the agency.

Earn a $1,000 bursary!

What is the internship? Once the student has registered with SCiP, completed an application, interviewed and are accepted, they complete their hours with the support and instruction of the organization. Upon completion of the internship and with required hours met, the student is paid a bursary by Alberta Enterprise and Advanced Education.
